San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas --- The San Angelo Colts announced Wednesday they have traded catcher Davis Page to the Washington Wild Things of the independent Frontier League in exchange for future considerations.

Page began his pro career with the Colts last season. He played multiple positions, including catcher, second base, third base and the outfield. This season he was set to be a backup catcher for veteran Josh Banda.

"There is a good chance Davis is going to play every day with the Wild Things," Colts Manager Doc Edwards said. "I will never hold a player back from a great opportunity, or from advancing into an organization."

Page hit .259 with four home runs and 14 RBIs in 45 games for the Colts last year.

He joins the Wild Things four games into the Frontier League season. Washington is 3-1, and scheduled to play the Gateway Grizzlies tonight at Consol Energy Park in Washington, Pa.

Opening Night at Foster Field is this evening at 7:05 p.m., when the Colts will play game one of a four-game series against the McAllen Thunder. It is a Sherwin Wednesday, sponsored by Sherwin Williams, and there will be postgame fireworks sponsored by 1st Community Federal Credit Union.

The San Angelo Colts are a member of United League Baseball who will play their 13th season in 2012. Season ticket plans are on sale now, and available at the Colts' front office at Foster Field.
