Colts Cruise Past Wings

HARLINGEN, Texas- Starting pitcher Demetrius Bates pitched seven solid innings as the San Angelo Colts (3-0) cruised past the RGV WhiteWings (0-3) 8-1 Saturday night Historic Harlingen Field.

San Angelo's offense exploded in the second inning scoring five runs, as Mike Mobbs lead the way with three hits. Chris Caves lead the inning off with a walk two batters Steve Rinado drove in Chris Caves and Oscar Garcia one the two RBI single as the Colts dominated game three of the series.

Starting pitcher Nathan Johnson had a night to forget throwing one and a third allowing seven runs on seven hits, Johnson took the loss (0-1) meanwhile Demetrius Banks got the win (1-0) throwing seven full innings allowing five hits and surrendering just one run.

Troy Zawadzki collected the lone RBI bringing in Johnny Bowden on the sacrifice fly in the third inning, the Wings offense struggled again only scoring two runs in just three games.

RGV looks for their first win of the year, as they send Bobby O'Neill to the mound to face Derek Christensen in the series finally. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
