San Angelo Colts News Release
AMARILLO, Texas - For the sixth time in the last two weeks, the San Angelo Colts will not play because of bad weather. After getting rained out five straight nights from July 4-8 in the Rio Grande Valley, continuing rain in Amarillo has forced the postponement of Friday's scheduled game between the Colts and Amarillo Dillas at the Dilla Villa. A make-up date has not yet been announced.
Friday's contest was supposed to be game two of a four-game series, which is the first series following the All-Star Break. The rest of the series will be played as scheduled with Saturday's game starting at 7:05 p.m. CT and Sunday's series finale beginning at 6:05 p.m. CT. Each game will be nine innings.
This is the final regular-season visit to Amarillo for the Colts, who won last night's series opener, 9-5. San Angelo will host the Dillas one more time, from July 27-29.
The Colts are winners of six in a row, with the first of those wins coming on Wednesday, July 9, against Laredo at Foster Field in San Angelo. All of the six rained out games for the Colts have come on the road (Edinburg, Harlingen, Amarillo) and all six have been in the last two weeks.
The Colts return home on Thursday, July 24 to begin a 10-game, nine-day homestand, starting with a Miller Lite "Thirsty Thursday," when 16 oz. bottles of beer are just $2. Advertising, ticket, and group information are available by calling the box office at (325) 942-6587. All Colts games are broadcast live on "Cool 100" - KCLL 100.1 FM and online at the Colts' official website, www.sanangelocolts.com, which is updated daily with the latest team news.
