Tulsa 66ers News Release
TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa 66ers opened a three-game homestand with a disappointing 81-86 loss to the Colorado 14ers on Thursday morning in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 3,100 school kids at Expo Square Pavilion.
Two 14ers scored double-doubles, Eddie Gill with 17 points and 12 assists and John Thomas with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Kaniel Dickens (18) and Billy Thomas (14) were the only other players to score in the double-digits.
The 66ers were led in scoring by Mike Hall who added 33 points to his 6 rebounds. Also scoring in the double-digits was Jason Fontenet with 13 points and Scott Merritt with 11 points. Keith Closs grabbed 15 solid rebounds with six blocked shots, but it wasn't enough to stop the 14ers.
Tulsa finished the game shooting just 35 percent from the field to Colorado's 46 percent. Tulsa was 7-of-19 from the 3-point line compared to Colorado's 10-of-19 from beyond the arch.
The win places Colorado slightly above the 66ers due to a tie breaker.
The 66ers will take on the Albuquerque Thunderbirds Saturday, April 5th at Expo Square Pavilion with a 7 p.m. tip-off.
