Colorado Rapids 2 Announce 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season Schedule

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - ‚ Colorado Rapids 2 announced today their schedule for the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season.

Rapids 2 will kick off their third MLS NEXT Pro campaign on Sunday, March 17, with a trip to CITYPARK to take on St. Louis CITY2 (5:00 p.m. MT; Apple TV). The team will then hit the road for week two to face Tacoma Defiance on Sunday, March 24, at Starfire Stadium (8:00 p.m. MT; Apple TV) before returning to Colorado to host LAFC2 in their home opener at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park on Sunday, March 31 (6:00 p.m. MT; Apple TV).

Colorado will play 28 regular season matches in 2024, 14 at home and 14 on the road. During the upcoming season, all MLS NEXT Pro teams will face their division opponents three times over the course of the 30-week season to foster more regional rivalries. The League's third season will feature 29 clubs, including two new independent clubs Carolina Core FC and Chattanooga FC, which will both compete in the new Southeast Division in the Eastern Conference.

A majority of MLS NEXT Pro matches will be available through the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Any matches not streamed on Apple TV will be available to fans on the MLS NEXT Pro website at mlsnextpro.com.

This season's Decision Day will take place on Sunday, October 6, with all Western Conference teams kicking off at 2 p.m. MT. The 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs will begin the weekend of October 18 and consist of three rounds of knockout stages before the MLS NEXT Pro Cup. This year's playoffs will feature the return of the "pick-your-opponent" format debuted during the 2023 postseason. This season, eight teams will qualify for the playoffs from each conference, with Seeds No. 1-4 selecting their opponents in the first round (no first round bye for the No. 1 Seed). In the second round, only the highest remaining seed in each conference will select an opponent from any of the remaining three teams.
