March 11, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Colorado Crush News Release
Fort Collins, CO-The Colorado Ice fall late to the undefeated Tri-Cities Fever 64-50, despite their early lead.
In a hard fought first quarter the Ice scored the only points on a 31 yard field goal by rookie kicker, Aric Goodman (#9).
Despite two touchdown passes from QB David Knighton (#5); a 14 yard strike to Tobias Robinson (#22) early and a 23 yard lob to Mark Henderson (#4) the Ice were unable to maintain their lead going into halftime.
The Ice came out strong in the third quarter with a touchdown run by Knighton (#5), a field goal by Goodman (#9) and a kickoff return for a touchdown by Duane Brooks (#2).
In a back and forth battle the Ice were outscored by two late Fever touchdowns.
Although the Fever put up a good fight the Ice remained in the game. Knighton (#5) passed to Jessie Poku (#85) for a touchdown to start the fourth quarter scoring. Depsite two touchdowns by Knighton (#5), a huge drive by the Tri-Cities Fever put the Ice in a hole they couldn't crawl out of. Despite scoring a season high in points on the stingy Tri-Cities Fever defense the Ice unfortunately fell to (1-2) for the 2012 season.
The Ice returns home to battle the Allen Wranglers at the Budweiser Events Center this Sunday March 18th, 2012. Doors open at 2 p.m. and kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.
