Colorado Ice to Host Tri-Cities Fever
June 1, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Colorado Crush News Release
Fort Collins, Co-The Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team will host the Tri-Cities Fever this Saturday June 2nd, 2012 on Majestic Roofing Field at the Budweiser Events Center.
This game will mark the second time in the 2012 regular season that the Ice and Fever will face each other. Previously on the Fever's home field, the Ice were unable to pull through and the Fever walked away with the win, 50-64. Despite their early lead, the back and forth game melted the Ice in the fourth quarter.
Additions to the roster has allowed the Ice tweak their game and become stronger as a team. Last week's game against the Everett Raptors is a testament to this.
Ice offense led by QB Jeremy Sanders (#6) took the lead immediately and the Ice defense held the Raptors to a score of, 54-25. Determination came from both sides of the ball and it was clear from the start the Ice were hungry for a win.
Sanders (#6) tied the IFL record for pass completion in one game, he went 16/16 on passes against the Raptors. His leadership has given the Ice the spark they need going into the matchup against the Fever.
The Fever showed great fortitude in their previous game against the Sioux Falls Storm but were unable to pull off a win in overtime. The Storm nearly ruined their perfect season when they allowed the Fever to score 72 points making the final score, 73-72.
When the Ice and Fever take the field it will surely be a highly contested battle.
The Colorado Ice and Chick-fil-A have teamed up for this game and one lucky fan will have the chance to win free Chick-fil-A for a year. In addition to this, fans have the opportunity to purchase tickets in the orange seating areas for a preferred price courtesy of Chick-fil-A. Call the Ice office at (970) 472-0128 to get your ticket, regularly $23 for only $12 per seat.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. For more information on the Ice, visit www.thecoloradoice.com.
