Colorado Crush News Release

FORT COLLINS, CO - The Colorado ICE (3-5) face the Omaha Beef (5-2) this Friday, May 22nd on Omaha's home turf for the second contest between the two teams this year. The ICE and the Beef previously met on May 2nd at the Budweiser Events Center with the Beef winning in a controversial last-second touchdown with 0.4 seconds left in the game.

With 138 total points scored the last time the two teams met, there should be no shortage of offense on Friday. Omaha's offense is ranked third in the league, led by QB James McNear who averages 222 yards of total offense a game. The ICE's WR Josh Gibson is among the league's leaders in all-purpose yards, with 126 per game.

Omaha's running-backs coach, Anthony Lee, will not be on the Omaha bench due to the league-sanctioned suspension for his actions at the May 2nd game in Colorado when Lee jumped on to the field and taunted the ICE crowd after Omaha's last-second win.

"Our game against Omaha a few weeks ago was a classic...one of the best IFL games this year. We look forward to playing the Beef again," stated ICE head coach Collins Sanders. "We have got the talent and the heart, we just need to execute on the field."

This Saturday's game will be broadcast live via the Internet on the B2 network (B2tv.com) and on the radio on Northern Colorado's ESPN affiliate KJMP AM 870. The following week's ICE game is on the road Saturday, May 30th at 6 pm against the Odessa Roughnecks.
