VIDSWAP.COM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK-WR ERIC TAYLOR
Big-time players make big-time plays. Odessa Roughnecks Wide Receiver Eric Taylor has made plenty of them in his day. Last Saturday was no different, as he was the difference in a four point Lone Star Division victory against the Stampede Express. Taylor seemed to be open every time Quarterback Dennis Gile stepped back to pass, and finished the night with 8 catches for 125 yards and three touchdowns. Performances like this and we could see the Roughnecks climb back into the IFL playoff picture.
VIDSWAP.COM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK-LB ARTHUR HARRIS
For the second week in a row, players from the same team have taken home both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Awards. By looking at the game that Arthur Harris contributed, one can easily see that the awards are warranted. The Roughneck Linebackers name was called all game, and he seemed to be involved on every single play, during a tight division battle against San Angelo. He totaled 11.5 tackles (9 solo), 0.5 tackle-for-loss, and an interception of Stampede Express Quarterback Sonny Cumbie.
VIDSWAP.COM SP. TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK-K ANDREW KROELL
Never say Never in this crazy game of Indoor Football. The Sioux City Bandits could have rolled over and given up on this season, but they showed their determination and are now back in the IFL playoff picture. In their lopsided victory over Colorado last weekend, Kicker Andrew Kroell used his accurate leg to contribute 15 points to the total score. He hit on all three of his field goal attempts from 25, 28, and 30 yards deep and was 6 of 7 on extra point attempts. Kroell and the Bandits hope they can ride this momentum for the rest of the season.

The Lone Star State will host its first IFL Game of the Week this Saturday as the offensive minded Generals battle the defensive minded Ruff Riders.
Led by QB Tommy Jones and WR Deangelo Woodie, the El Paso Offense is second in the IFL averaging 54 points per game. The teammates have combined for 12 TD's on the season
The Ruff Riders defensive unit has made a habit of causing turnovers this season. In total, Abilene has caused 7 fumbles and 12 interceptions. DB Joey Longoria has 8 of those 12 INT's himself which is tops in the league. Look for him to spy Tommy Jones all game.
Kickoff is slated for this Saturday, May 23rd at 7 PM. VISIT THE NEW IFL STORE

-From the Assistant Commissioner Robert Loving
The Indoor Football League is now over halfway through its inaugural season; and as I reflect back a few months, I am amazed at the strides the League has taken in establishing itself in the realm of professional sports. We have been extremely fortunate in putting together a very adept and enthusiastic League Office staff in a very short period of time. The staff is very diverse in their backgrounds and each brings a special component and a different perspective to the overall operation of the office. This group of individuals, led by Commissioner Tommy Benizio, ranks among the most cohesive and dedicated that I have had the pleasure of working with.
As with any new venture there have been some critical challenges for the League Office to face. In each and every case the office staff has combined their efforts in confronting the issue head-on. There should be no doubt that the experience gained and the lessons learned this first season of the Indoor Football League will form a solid foundation that will promote future growth and success for years to come. The interest already demonstrated by perspective franchise owners for expansion teams has been phenomenal. Teams and fans alike can rest assured that the League Office is here to serve them and always welcomes their input and questions. I anxiously look forward to great success and achievements for the IFL to be shared with the greatest fans in the world!
