Fort Collins, CO-The Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team are headed to Everett, Washington to face the Everett Raptors this Saturday, May 26th, 2012.
Saturday's game is the second time this season that the Ice will play the Raptors. Previously the Ice beat the Raptors at home on Majestic Roofing Field at the Budweiser Events Center, 49-36.
In the Ice's previous game against the New Mexico Stars, the Ice, led by QB Jeremy Sanders (#8) won 58-9.
Going into the third matchup in a 3 game series, the Stars led 2-0. A strong defense helped the Ice hold the Stars to one touchdown and a safety.
Touchdowns from RB Tobias Robinson (#22), WR Mark Henderson (#4), Sanders (#8) and WR James Walton (#6) allowed the
Ice to lead at halftime, 35-2. Kicker, Aric Goodman (#9) was good on all 8 PATs.
Last week, in a second meeting between the Raptors and the Allen Wranglers, the Raptors defeated the Wranglers by one point.
In the final throes of the game, the Raptors completed a touchdown, tying the score and sending the game into overtime. The Raptors defense permitted the Wranglers to score but quickly came back with a game winning touchdown.
Currently, the Ice are averaging 50.2 points per game whereas the Raptors average 52.4. If it weren't for the stout Ice defense this game would be a highly contested battle. The Ice defense has totaled 527 tackles and roughly 18 sacks thus far in the 2012 season.
If the game is close, look for Goodman (#9) to add to the Ice's score. He currently holds a 91 percent average on extra points. The Raptors come in at the middle of the pack with a 70 percent average on extra points.
