Brockton, MA - The Pittsfield Colonials fell 9-3 to the Brockton Rox at Campanelli Stadium on Thursday night.
Angel Molina (3-for-4, 2B, HR, RBI) finished a triple shy of the cycle for Pittsfield, launching a home run in his second consecutive game. Rafael Cabreja and Dan Carte added single RBIs for the Colonials in the loss.
Colonials' starting pitcher Matt White (1-3) suffered the loss lasting four-plus innings in his fourth start of the season, giving-up nine runs on eight hits, two walks, and one strike-out.
Rox starter Wayne Lundgren (1-1) earned the victory in seven innings of work allowing one run (unearned) on seven hits, while striking-out one and walking none.
Brockton's Scott Wearne (2-for-4, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI) laced a bases clearing three-run triple in the game to pace the Rox offense. Keith Brachold (1-for-3, HR, 2 RBI) belted his league leading sixth home run of the year in to aid the Brockton effort.
The Colonials will return home to Pittsfield's Wahconah Park on Friday night when they open a three game series with the Sussex Skyhawks. Lefty David Qualben (0-3) is schedule to start on the mound for Pittsfield.
