Coleman Signs with Express Defensive Unit

Reading, PA - December 16, 2011. The Reading Express signed University of North Alabama graduate D'Arcy Coleman on Oct. 10 to add speed and agility to their already impressive defensive unit.

Coleman started 20 games and earned All-American at Mississippi Delta Community College before he transferred to University of North Alabama to continue his college football career. North Alabama is a perennial powerhouse at the Division II level. From there, the 6'0" 260 pound defensive tackle went on to be a very influential member of the defensive line where he had over 100 tackles, nine sacks, two interceptions and one touchdown in 25 started games.

"D'Arcy has a motor that does not quit. He can be blocked 3 different times on a particular play and he still finds a way to make a play" Head Coach Mark Steinmeyer said.

Coleman was a captain his senior season when All-Gulf South Conference Honors.

The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title.
