
Colabello, Leverton Can-Am League Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC - Pointstreak, the official statistician of the Can-Am League, has selected Worcester Tornadoes INF Chris Colabello and New Jersey Jackals LHP James Leverton as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
Colabello posted a .500 batting average in six games. He hit two home runs to go along with 10 RBIs, 14 hits and three runs scored. The Milford, MA resident also had a .517 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .786. Colabello collected eight of the 14 hits in back-to-back games versus the Rockland Boulders (June 30 and July 1). The 27-year-old is first in the Can-Am League in batting average (.404), third in RBIs (33) and tied for fifth in home runs (7).
Leverton went 2-0 with a 0.63 ERA in two starts. In 14 1/3 innings pitched, the 25-year-old gave up an earned run with 10 hits and two walks while striking out 16 batters. On the season, the Flower Mound, TX resident is 5-2 with a 2.46 ERA. He is currently tied for second in wins, fourth in ERA and fifth in strikeouts (39).
