Cobras Team With Borders Books In Support Of CMS

CHARLOTTE – The Carolina Cobras and Borders Books joined forces to host a children's book drive in support of the students of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Every fan that brings a new children's book to the Cobras' game against the Orlando Predators this Saturday, February 28 will receive a buy one, get one free ticket voucher to the club's next home game on Sunday, March 14. Borders books will also have books available for purchase and donation. All books collected at the game will be donated to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

"Borders Books is proud to partner with the Cobras to provide essential reading material to Charlotte-area youth," said Judy Harper, Borders Books corporate sales coordinator. "Through our involvement, we hope to expand the interest and awareness of reading of all of the students of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools."

Borders Books, Music & Cafes, at both locations in Morrocroft and Stonecrest Shopping Centers in Charlotte, are proud to partner this spring with the Cobras by providing a book drive at the next arena game in conjunction with Charlotte Reads, a literacy advocacy group dedicated to raising the awareness of the importance of reading by supporting programs that address the literacy needs of our community. We invite everyone to attend a Charlotte Reads' program featuring Sonja Manzano, known as Maria on Sesame Street, on March 9 at 7 p.m. at CPCC's Pease Auditorium.
