WILMINGTON - The Delaware Blue Coats (3-3) defeated the Greensboro Swarm (1-4) 121-117 on Sunday afternoon at Chase Fieldhouse.
Mac McClung led the way for the Blue Coats, scoring 27 points on 9-14 shooting. Louis King also shot 9-14 from the field, scoring 26. Julian Champagnie and Michael Foster Jr. chipped in 16 and 13 points, respectively, while both Braxton Key and Charlie Brown Jr. contributed 10 points off the bench.
The two teams went into the halftime locker room tied at 65. After the back-and-forth first half, the Coats started the third quarter with a 21-4 run and never looked back. The Swarm made a push, outscoring the Blue Coats 48-35 the rest of the way, but Delaware ultimately held on for the win.
Theo Maledon was the top scorer for the Swarm, totaling 26 points to follow up his 23-point performance on Friday. Kobi Simmons scored 20 points on 8-11 shooting, while both Maledon and Simmons also dished out seven assists. Four other players scored in double digits for the Swarm, including Xavier Sneed (18), Jalen Crutcher (16), Kai Jones (10) and Jaylen Sims (10).
The Blue Coats will hit the road on Thursday, Jan. 12 to face the Maine Celtics. The game is set to tipoff at 7:00 p.m on ESPN+.
