Coastal Plain League Players of the Week for Week Three Named

The Coastal Plain League announced today that Asheboro's K.J. McAllister was named the Rawlings Hitter of the Week, while Asheboro's John Tuttle and Morehead City's Nathan Harsh were named Rawlings Co-Pitchers for week three (June 10-16) of CPL action.

McAllister, a junior out of Limestone College, swung a hot bat for the Asheboro Copperheads, including a streak of seven consecutive hits over a weekend series with High Point-Thomasville. In total on the week, he racked up 10 hits for a .667 average with three doubles, 13 total bases, and a stout .867 slugging percentage on the week. The North Carolina native finished the week as the league leader in batting average, at .426, and tied for third overall in hits with 21 on the year.

Tuttle and Harsh both performed excellent for their teams leading to a tie for pitcher of the week. Tuttle, a 6-1, 190-pound junior for Catawba, pitched a complete game shutout and only gave up 1 hit in the process. He pitched dominant game with 7 strikeouts against just 1 walk and also held High-Point Thomasville to a 0.48 batting average. Tuttle improved his record to 3-0 with an impressive 21 inning scoreless streak.

Meanwhile, Harsh pitched six innings against Petersburg and had an amazing 16 strikeouts. The 6-6, 236-pound sophomore out of Kennesaw State, shut down the Petersburg offense and was part of a complete game shutout. He allowed only three hits and walked none on his way to a 0.5 WHIP for the week. Harsh is now 1-0 on the season and holding his opponents to a .111 batting average
