
Coach Guy Selected for West Alabama Hall of Fame

Phoenix, Ariz. - Arizona Rattlers' General Manager and Head Coach Kevin Guy has been selected as an inductee into the University of West Alabama (UWA) Hall of Fame. Guy joins Dr. James Andrews and Leo Wright for the 2015 Hall of Fame class.
"I have always been proud to represent the University of West Alabama's family. It is a great privilege and honor to be selected for this year's class," Guy said. "I am excited to be included with such an esteemed class as Dr. Andrews and Leo Wright. I have known Leo Wright for years. His son PJ and I were teammates at West Alabama, and Dr. Andrews has been a big part of the University for decades."

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Dr. James Andrews, Kevin Guy and Leo Wright have been selected to the University of West Alabama Athletics Hall of Fame, according to an announcement by Hall of Fame Chairman Dee Outlaw.
"We have three outstanding inductees to this year's class," Outlaw said. "We are proud of these Tigers and they are all very proud to represent our University as the newest Hall of Fame members."
Andrews, Guy and Wright increase the number of inductees to 69 for the UWA Athletic Hall of Fame, which inducted its first class in 1981.
Guy attended the university from 1991 to 1995. While there, he played for the Tigers as a defensive back and a wide receiver.
After college, Guy played four seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL) and in 1999 he helped the Orlando Predators reach ArenaBowl XIII.
From 2002 to 2005, Guy was a head coach for the Tennessee Valley Vipers (2002-04) and the Rio Grande Valley Dorados (2005), both from Arenafootball2 (AF2). While coaching in the AF2 Guy earned the most wins in AF2 history (52), was the Coach of the Year (2003), and in 2009 was inducted into the AF2 Hall of Fame.
Guy went back to the AFL in 2006 as a Defensive Coordinator for the San Jose SaberCats, where in 2007 he earned his first ArenaBowl title as an Assistant Coach.
On August 10th, 2007, Coach Guy was brought on to be the General Manager and Head Coach of the Arizona Rattlers. While with the Rattlers, Guy has earned a record of 103 - 35, led the Rattlers to the ArenaBowl for four straight years (2011-2014), and earned three straight world championships (2012-2014). Guy was also the Coach of the Year in 2011.
On July 10th, 2015, the AFL announced that Coach Guy was nominated for the Arena Football League Hall of Fame 2015 class. The inductees will be announced sometime this fall.
