Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL--- Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo has led his team to an American Conference leading 10-3 record, and he's done it with the youngest team in the CBA. On Wednesday night, Coach Chris will go even younger with his basketball guidance. Daleo will be the guest coach for a practice of the Meridian School District's kindergarten and first grade team. You can expect the highest scoring scrimmage in that team's history when Daleo takes the whistle from 5pm-6pm at Highland Elementary School in Stillman Valley.
"It doesn't matter if the players are 6 or 26, I just love getting on the floor and coaching ," said Coach Daleo, "I'm just happy to get out in the community and teach my run-and-gun style as much as I possibly can.".
The Defending American Conference coach of the month will return to his Rockford team on Thursday as the Lightning visit the Gary Steelheads. Tip-off time is 7:05 at the Genesis Center and Mike Garrigan will deliver all the play-by-play action live from Gary on Newstalk 1440 WROK.
