Columbus Clippers News Release

The Columbus Clippers knocked off the Norfolk Tides in the finale of their three-game series, 1-0, this evening at Harbor Park.

Adam Plutko and the Clippers' bullpen were excellent, helping the team to a 2-1 series win.

The Clippers scored their lone run in the first inning when Yu Chang grounded into a double play, allowing Brandon Barnes to score from third.

Plutko took over after that, shutting the Tides down into the sixth inning. He finished with one walk and five strikeouts, while scattering four hits in five and one-third innings of scoreless work.

Tyler Olson, Ben Taylor and Jon Edwards then kept the Tides down with three and two-thirds innings of perfect baseball for the remainder of play to secure the 1-0 win.

The Clippers will be back in action tomorrow when they welcome the Rochester Red Wings to Huntington Park for a three-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
