
Clinton Wins First Half Finale (After Lighting Malfunction)

CLINTON, IOWA - Monday night's game between the LumberKings and the Burlington Bees - originally ruled a suspended game due to a light failure in the top of the eighth inning - has been ruled a complete game, per Prospect League rules. The Lumber Kings led the Bees 6-5 at the end of seven innings.
Last night's game also marked the end of the first half of the Prospect League season. The Lumber Kings finished 15-16, good for second place in the Great River Division.
Clinton was led offensively in the ball game by Matt Scherrman (UW-Oshkosh). Scherrman plated three RBIs and Kale Orman (Mount Mercy) got the victory in relief over 3.1 scoreless innings, striking out four and allowing just two base hits.
Tonight's game versus Burlington will begin at 6:30 pm - gates open at 5 pm. It will be Downtown Clinton Night.
