Cincinnati Mighty Ducks extend agreement with Anaheim

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks today announced they have agreed to terms with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on a new extension of their affiliation agreement. The extension continues a partnership that began in 1997 when Cincinnati entered the American Hockey League.

Among members of Anaheim's 2003-04 season-ending roster that have played for the Cincinnati franchise since the beginning of the affiliation are: goaltenders Jean-Sebastien Giguere (2000-01) and Martin Gerber (2002-03); defensemen Niclas Havelid (1999-00), Ruslan Salei (1997-98), Vitaly Vishnevski (1999-00) and Lance Ward (2003-04); left wings Stanislav Chistov (2003-04) and Mike Leclerc (1997-99); centers Jason Krog (2002-03), Andy McDonald (2000-02) and Samuel Pahlsson (2002-03) as well as right wing Joffrey Lupul (2003-04).

In 2003-04, Cincinnati appeared in the Calder Cup playoffs for the fourth time in franchise history. The club advanced to the second round, beating the defending Calder Cup champion Houston Aeros in the West Division qualifying round and falling to the top-seeded Milwaukee Admirals in seven games in the West Division semifinals.
