Cincinnati to host the PASL Playoffs in March
Weekend Passes available for $25
The Kings will host the 2011 Professional Arena Soccer League playoffs from March 10-12, 2011 at the Cincinnati Gardens. A PASL Playoff Pass is available for $25 and includes access to all five tournament matches, including the finals to be played on Saturday, March 12, 7:35 p.m. For more information, contact Marybeth Monaghan (click here).
Kings host the Piasa this Friday, Feb. 4
The Cincinnati Kings will face the Illinois Piasa on Friday, Feb. 4 in a battle of division leaders. While the Kings (11-2) are atop the Eastern Division of the PASL, the Piasa (6-2) are in first in the Pro Frontier Division. It will be the first time meeting for both squads this season. Tickets are available beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Cincinnati Gardens Box Office.
Kings to honor NKU men's soccer on Friday
The Cincinnati Kings will pay tribute to the Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team accomplished a feat that no men's team at NKU ever has, winning the NCAA Division II national championship with a 3-2 victory over Rollins College. NKU finishes the season with a 20-2-3 record.
Kings to salute Cincinnati State men's soccer
The Cincinnati Kings will also honor the Cincinnati State men's soccer team on Friday. Cincinnati State made school history this past season reaching the D-I NJCAA National Championship in Tyler, Texas. Finishing as NJCAA Runner-Up, the Surge outscored opponents 108 to 24 finishing with an overall record of 22-3-0 earning a ranking of second in the National Junior College poll.
Kings shutout Vortex to make PASL history
The Cincinnati Kings indoor soccer team remained undefeated at home this season with a 6-0 shutout win over the Ohio Vortex in Professional Arena Soccer League action last Saturday night at the Cincinnati Gardens. The shutout is the first one recorded by the Kings in their indoor soccer history.
The Kings (11-2) opened scoring late in the first with a goal by University of Cincinnati product Kwame Sarkodie. Fellow Bearcat Jeff Hughes scored early in the second to end the first half 2-0. A goal by Jeff Henderson in the third and a power play goal by Garrett Buck early in the fourth put the game away. Kenney Bertz added a tap-in late in the game and Hughes closed the scoring with his second goal of the night. The Vortex (2-8) had their best chances to score early in the second half, but a pair of free kicks were stopped by Kings goalkeeper Craig Salvati.
The victory keeps the Kings atop the PASL Eastern Division.
