CHL Performance of the Week Winner Announced

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that the Odessa Jackalopes impressive first period offensive outburst in their 9-2 victory over the New Mexico Scorpions on October 24th has been voted Week Two's top performance. The Jacks scored four goals in a 2:54 stretch of the opening period taking a commanding 4-0 lead by the 6:27 mark of the period. Dominic Leveille, Brian Swiniarski, Russ Moyer and Dave Van Drunen were the goal scorers for Odessa.

The Jackalopes received 999 of the 2,395 votes cast during the weekly poll accounting for 42% of the votes. Coming in second place was Texas' Scott Sheppard who received 841 votes by notching five points (2-3=5) in a victory over Odessa on October 25th

The Jackalopes are currently sitting in first place in the Southwest Division with nine points and a 4-2-1 record. Odessa has one of the league's top offenses with 32 goals scored averaging 4.57 goals per game (second in the league).

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week two of the season are as follows:

-Mississippi ending Colorado's eight-game win streak with a 6-2 victory on November 1st

-Amarillo's Sam Ftorek scoring an OT goal in Gorillas 2-1 win (their first of the season) vs. Texas on October 31st

-Wylie Rogers (RGV) 53-save effort in 2-1 win versus Odessa in the Jacks home opener on October 31st

-New Mexico's Chris Robertson scoring a hat trick in Scorps 6-3 win at Rocky Mountain on November 1st

-Colorado's Andrew Penner making 47 saves in Eagles 3-2 win at BOS on October 30th

Fans can vote for the winner through Monday, November 10th with the winner being announced on Tuesday, November 11th.
