CHL Introduces Hat Tricks for Kids Program
Published on October 17, 2008 under Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
The Central Hockey League (CHL), in conjunction with Infinity Pro Sports, introduced today a new program for the 2008-09 season called âHat Tricks for Kids'. The program, beginning with tonight's seven Opening Night contests, is presented by Infinity Pro Sports.
Throughout the CHL's 512-game regular season schedule, any hat trick (three goals or more scored by the same player in one game) will generate a $25.00 donation on behalf of Infinity Pro Sports to The Hoffen Foundation. The money will then be distributed to children's charities throughout the markets of the 16 CHL teams.
"We are excited to be a part of this program with Infinity Pro Sports and The Hoffen Foundation," said Bob Hoffman, the CHL's Director of Communications. "Last season, our teams stepped up donating more than 1.3 million dollars to charity and with this program, it the league's way of putting together a framework to help support our team's charitable initiatives. Everyone likes watching their team score goals and this way a hat trick will lead directly to dollars being donated to great causes right within our own neighborhoods."
Fans will also have the chance to donate money to âHat Tricks for Kids' through the programs webpage accessible at www.hattricksforkids.org. A running total of the number of hat tricks recorded and the number of dollars raised will be kept all season long on the program's site.
"As Infinity enters its seventh year of being the official web site provider of the CHL, we wanted to do something special!" said Uri Geva, CEO of Infinity Pro Sports. "Through conversation with the leadership of the CHL we realized that together we can make an impact on more than just the fans of the CHL. The Hat Tricks for Kids program is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and funds for children that need support through their hardships."
