CHL Game Recaps Now Available Through Pointstreak
February 17, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
GLENDALE, AZ (February 17, 2012) - The Central Hockey League (CHL), in conjunction with Pointstreak Sports Technologies and Narrative Science, announced today that beginning with Friday's CHL games, the CHL Scoreboard web page will now feature a link to instant, detailed game reports.
"We are very impressed with the new feature developed by Narrative Science and Pointstreak and are excited about the instant re-cap it will provide to our fans," said Bob Hoffman, CHL Director of Operations. "We feel this new feature will enhance the fan experience and be invaluable to our media partners around the CHL."
The real-time reports will be available instantly through the CHL's scoreboard web page available through www.centralhockeyleague.com and through www.pointstreak.com.
Pointstreak Sports Technologies President and CEO Scott Secord said, "The auto-generated game reports have many key benefits including engaging the sport's fan beyond the scores and stats. The creation date of the re-cap will keep the results of the game relevant with search engines such as Google and will provide media contacts with timely written content."
The service will be available throughout the remainder of the regular season and through the entire 2012 Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Playoffs.
The technology was developed by Narrative Science as statistical data captured by Pointstreak, such as team names, scorers, when they scored, which goal was the game winner, etc., is shared with Narrative Science's artificial intelligence platform. These platforms then create a real-time editorial piece that becomes available on the scoreboard site.
Fans and media alike will have their first chance to view the new technology during the seven CHL games scheduled for Friday night (February 17).
