
Chivas USA's new 'Coaches Connection' offers valuable tips to youth soccer coaches of all levels

CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008) - Club Deportivo Chivas USA of Major League Soccer announced today the launch of the Chivas USA Coaches Connection, a new service for youth soccer coaches of all levels offering coaching tips and information on Chivas USA's innovative Youth Development System. Coaches can register online for a free monthly newsletter, which will provide training tools, soccer drills and player development insights used by Chivas USA to nurture and grow more complete players.
"The Chivas USA Coaches Connection is a great service for coaches and players at any level," said Chivas USA Head Coach Preki Radosavljevic, Major League Soccer's 2007 Coach of the Year. "Through Coaches Connection, we help spread Chivas USA's passion for our sport and for developing talented young soccer players."
Coaches Connection provides helpful insight into the Chivas USA system and philosophy of Youth Development, and will help coaches learn about a method of player development that has already seen several players move from the Chivas USA Youth Teams onto the Major League Soccer side. As another service to coaches of all levels, Chivas USA Youth Team coaches will be conducting a Chivas USA Coaching Seminar on Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19 at The Home Depot Center. For a registration fee of just $75 for the two-day seminar - which includes lunch, a ticket to Chivas USA's Oct. 19 game vs. the Colorado Rapids, as well as coaching materials and a certificate of completion - coaches will get a chance to learn about Chivas USA's player development philosophy. Topics to be covered include game preparation, systems of play, tactical talks, as well as game analysis.
