Chivas USA returns to Santa Clarita for March 1 exhibition to benefit Michael Hoefflin Foundation

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009) - Chivas USA today officially announced that the club will return to Santa Clarita, Calif., for a charity exhibition match on Sunday, March 1, at 5:00 p.m. The game, against the Ventura County Fusion of the Premier Development League, will raise money for the non-profit Michael Hoefflin Foundation, which provides financial and emotional support to children and their families facing childhood cancer in Santa Clarita and the surrounding area.

The match is Chivas USA's second exhibition to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, after facing the Columbus Crew in Santa Clarita on Feb. 23, 2008. Like last year, the game will be played in Cougar Stadium at the College of the Canyons in Valencia, and tickets are available at prices of $20 for adults and $15 for children.

Since last year's match, Chivas USA players and staff, including defender Jonathan Bornstein, have donated their time and efforts to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, which looks to educate the public and provide grant funding for innovative research to accelerate progress in the fight against pediatric cancer.
