
Chivas USA Midfielder Marco Delgado Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2013) - Chivas USA midfielder Marco Delgado underwent successful knee surgery today to repair a lateral meniscus tear suffered in his left knee during the Sporting Kansas City game on Sept. 13. According to the postsurgical report, Delgado will be away from the soccer fields from four to six weeks effectively ending his 2014 MLS season.
In just his second season, Delgado had featured prominently in Wilmer Cabrera's side starting 12 games in 20 appearances. He tallied two goals and provided one assist in the current MLS campaign.
Chivas USA are preparing to visit Western Conference foe Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday for the third and final leg of the season series. The match will be televised on KDOC-TV LA56 and Time Warner Cable Deportes beginning at 1 p.m. (PT) and can also be heard on ESPN Deportes Radio KWKU 1220 AM.
