
Chivas USA Forward Justin Braun Is Called up to U.S. National Team for Friendly Against Chile

CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, December 21, 2010) - Chivas USA forward Justin Braun has been named by Head Coach Bob Bradley to the United States Men's National Team for its January training camp ahead of a Jan. 22 friendly against Chile at 6:00 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center in Carson. This will be the second call-up for Braun, who was with the U.S. for its January 2010 training camp.
Braun, 23, was Chivas USA's top scorer in 2010, notching nine goals and adding three assists in 28 games (24 starts) during the MLS season. Braun also scored twice in U.S. Open Cup play, both goals coming in a 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo. He was named MLS Player of the Week on July 12, 2010, after scoring both goals in a 2-0 win at Kansas City. In 67 career regular season matches (all with Chivas USA), Braun has 16 goals and 7 assists. The Salt Lake City native was signed in 2008 after being spotted playing in an amateur tournament at The Home Depot Center.
The U.S. Men's National Team training camp begins on Jan. 4 and will last until the Jan. 22 friendly against Chile. Players will be released on Jan. 23 and Braun will join Chivas USA preseason camp on that day.
