
Chivas USA draws 2-2 with MetroStars

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, March 2, 2006) - Chivas USA drew 2-2 with fellow MLS side MetroStars today at The Home Depot Center's main stadium in the Red-and-White's seventh scrimmage of the 2006 preseason. Chivas USA went up 1-0 in the 25th minute following a Jeff Parke own goal, but MetroStars would draw level five minutes later, Chris Henderson beating goalkeeper Brad Guzan with a looping shot.
Chivas USA head coach Bob Bradley made wholesale changes for the second half, and in the 52nd minute MetroStars went up 2-1 with a strike by Youri Djorkaeff. However, Chivas USA would pull even in the 65th, when Jesús Ochoa beat Tony Meola on a penalty kick following a foul inside the area on Estuardo Sánchez.
Chivas USA, Major League Soccer's Mexican-owned, Los Angeles-based franchise, kicks off its second campaign in MLS on April 2, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. PT versus Real Salt Lake at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
