CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008) - Chivas USA defender Eric Ebert successfully underwent right knee lateral meniscus repair surgery this afternoon at the Surgery Center of the Pacific in Santa Monica, Calif. The procedure, known as a meniscectomy, was performed by team physician Dr. Michael Gerhardt and will likely sideline Ebert for four to six weeks. Ebert, a second-year defender, was placed on Chivas USA's Season-Ending Injury List on Sept. 15, after making 7 appearances (2 starts) for the Red-and-White in 2008, logging a total of 256 minutes.

In other injury news, Chivas USA forward Ante Razov has been diagnosed with a mild right calf strain, and is expected to be out of action for approximately two weeks. Razov, the club's all-time leading scorer with 30 goals, suffered the injury during the first half of Saturday night's 2-1 win over the Kansas City Wizards at The Home Depot Cetner; Razov was replaced by forward Justin Braun in the 30th minute. The Los Angeles native is tied for the team lead in both goals (5) and assists (6) this year, and has a total of 114 regular season goals in his 13-year MLS career.

With four games remaining in the regular season, Chivas USA continues to push for a spot in the playoffs in a tight Western Conference. The team hits the road for its next two matches (Oct. 4 at D.C. United, Oct. 11 at the San Jose Earthquakes) before returning home for the final two games of the regular season (Oct. 19 vs. the Colorado Rapids, Oct. 25 vs. the Houston Dynamo).
