Chivas ties MLS Cup champs in preseason exhibition

CARSON, Calif. (Saturday, March 10, 2007) - Chivas USA tied 1-1 with the Houston Dynamo, the reigning MLS Cup champions, in a preseason exhibition held this morning at The Home Depot Center's University Field 1. Forward John Cunliffe scored the game-tying goal for Chivas USA in the 82nd minute, beating Zach Wells one-on-one from seven yards out. Earlier, in the 14th minute, Alejandro Moreno had given Houston the lead following a Preston Burpo save of a Brad Davis strike.

Tomorrow Sunday, Chivas USA will hold 'ChivaFest', the team's free annual fan festival, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center. Always colorful, this year's ChivaFest will feature music, raffles and free drawings, as well as an official Chivas USA team presentation and a special dance routine by the new-look ChivaGirls squad. Parking and admission are free, and fans who purchase a Chivas USA ticket package will be invited to a special VIP reception with Chivas USA players starting at 4:00 p.m.
