Edmonton Chill News Release

The Edmonton Chill is continuing to accumulate IBL veterans to help ease their transition into the fastest hoops league in the world. With this goal in mind the Chill announced the addition of Marques Hayden, a 6'7", 240 pound forward, to the team for the upcoming spring season.

Hayden played his college ball at Kansas State after working himself into the #10 ranking nationally among power forwards, during his senior year of high school, the same year that saw Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh head to Georgia Tech. After college, Marques played with a traveling pro team in 2006 before signing with the Seattle Mountaineers of the IBL in 2007. He averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds per game for the 2007 season and then signed with Espanol de Talca in Chile's top pro league. Marques lit up the Division Mayor notching his career high with a 35-point game and was a nightly contributor as well, averaging 20 points and 9 rebounds per game, and his 1.3 blocks were good for 5th in the league this year. Hayden's ability to score and defend from three different spots gives Head Coach Paul Sir tremendous flexibility at shooting guard, as well as both forward positions. Marques makes his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
