Edmonton Chill News Release
The Edmonton Chill added more depth to their backcourt with a name that everyone in the River City will know, Phil Scherer.
Phil started his hoops career at Paul Kane High School in St. Albert and a stint with the Canadian National Junior team, before moving on to Don Horwood's Golden Bear squad. His collegiate accomplishments at the U of A include a CIS National Championship in '01-'02 as well as two All-Canadian selections, in 2003 and 2004. Phil continued his basketball career playing two season of professional ball in Europe, one season in the highly competitive Spanish League as well as one year in the Swiss League's top division. Phil, like the other local products the Chill have acquired, is very excited to play in his hometown again.
