El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

Jake Goebbert hit a three-run home run and a grand slam in the El Paso Chihuahuas 8-4 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs Thursday at Southwest University Park. Goebbert finished the night 3-for-4 with two home runs, one walk and seven RBIs, setting a Chihuahuas high for RBIs in a game. The Chihuahuas win stopped New Orleans from a four-game sweep in El Paso.

El Paso starter Matt Wisler pitched six innings and allowed three runs to earn his third Triple-A win. Dennis O'Grady retired all six batters he faced in two perfect relief innings for the Chihuahuas. The Chihuahuas trailed 3-0 early and scored seven unanswered runs at one point.

Thursday was El Paso's 18th come-from-behind victory since May 2nd. Goebbert hit a grand slam against the Chihuahuas on April 25th when he was with Sacramento. The Chihuahuas have four grand slams this season. Thursday's sellout was the 20th in 27 games at Southwest University Park.
