SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs used a four-run eighth inning to defeat the Ottawa Lynx 5-3 on Wednesday at the Phillies complex in Clearwater, Florida.
Dustin McGowan started on the mound for Syracuse and tossed five innings allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out three Lynx. Ryan Houston pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Troy Glaus played for the Chiefs at got an at-bat in each of the first eight innings. He went 1-8 with a run scored. Jeff Duncan, John Hattig and Ray Olmedo each had two hits for Syracuse.
The Chiefs (8-4-1) host the Lynx on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Blue Jays complex.
