SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs defeated the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees 5-3 in Spring Training action Saturday at the Blue Jays Complex in Dunedin, Florida.
Jeff Duncan had two hits including a double for Syracuse. Adam Lind doubled and scored two runs.
Ismael Ramirez started on the mound for the Chiefs and allowed three runs on six hits over five innings, walking two and striking out three. Jordan DeJong tossed two scoreless innings in relief and struck out five Yankees. Brian Wolfe and Blaine Neal each threw one scoreless innings.
The Chiefs end Spring Training with a record of 10-5-1. Syracuse opens the regular season on Thursday, April 5th, on the road against the Durham Bulls at 7:00 PM.
