HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - The Chicago Storm took a break from their Major Indoor Soccer League schedule and faced the American Indoor Soccer League's Rockford Rampage on Tuesday, Feb. 5. The Storm's Matthew Stewart scored four goals and an assist as Chicago edged the Rampage, 16-14, at the Sears Centre Arena for their annual School Day Game. Carlos "Chile" Farias had five assists.

Last week in MISL play, Stewart netted two first-half goals as Chicago beat the New Jersey Ironmen, 15-4, on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Sears Centre. Stewart leads the Storm with 41 points. On Friday, Feb. 1, Stephen Armstrong notched a hat trick, but it was not enough as the host Baltimore Blast defeated the Storm, 18-8, at the 1st Mariner Arena. Armstrong booted his league-leading seventh and eighth three-pointers.

Next up for the Storm (12-7 MISL) is another exhibition match against Rockford at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Victory Sports Complex, 7003 N. Alpine Road, in Loves Park, Ill. Rockford is 10-0 in the AISL, and Saturday's match will use the AISL scoring system: 1-point and 2-point goals, versus the MISL's 2-point and 3-point system.

- Points leaders: Three Storm players rank in the MISL's top 20 in points. Matthew Stewart is 12th with 41, and he leads the Storm with 18 goals (all two-pointers). Stephen Armstrong currently ranks 15th with 38 points. Armstrong has 14 goals (an MISL-leading eight three-pointers) and two assists. Carlos "Chile" Farias is tied for 16th with 37 points. Farias has 11 goals (two three-pointers) and 13 assists.

- Richey honored: Last week, Storm goalkeeper Jeff Richey was named co-MISL goalkeeper of the week with Orlando's Paul Nagy. On Friday Jan. 25, Richey saved 13 of Detroit's 14 shots at the Sears Centre, resulting in a 9-2 victory for the Storm. Richey holds an 8-4 record with 12 starts. He ranks second in the league with a save percentage of 0.746 and is third with 8.59 points allowed per game.
