CO-GOALKEEPERS OF THE WEEK

Jim Larkin, Chicago Storm, GK

Larkin entered Saturday's game against New Jersey with 3,000 career regular-season saves and he added to that total, saving 13 of 15 shots in a 15-4 victory against the Ironmen.

Marcel Feenstra, Milwaukee Wave, GK

Feenstra turned in an impressive performance in one of the Wave's victories over the weekend. The rookie from Den Helder, Holland turned away 16 of 19 shots by California in a 14-7 Wave victory on Saturday. He stopped multiple shots by extending his 6-foot-4 frame, and helped the Wave build a 14-2 lead. Feenstra is 3-0, with a 7.08 points-allowed average and an impressive .811 save percentage.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

P.J. Wakefield, Baltimore Blast, D

Blast defender and team captain P.J. Wakefield recorded six points in Baltimore's back-to-back weekend wins. Friday night Wakefield tallied two assists (one to Denison Cabral and the second to Robbie Aristodemo) in the team's 18-8 win over the Storm. On Saturday, he scored one goal (a three- pointer) and added an assist (to Machel Millwood) in Baltimore's 25-13 win over the Sharks. Wakefield's fourth-quarter three-point goal ended the Blast's offensive explosion and gave the team a season-high 25 points on the night. In addition to his points, Wakefield recorded two blocks on Friday and one on Saturday. He leads the Blast with 25 blocks this season. Wakefield, who leads all Blast defenders and ranks third on the team with 27 points, has been named MISL Defender of the Week twice already this season (10/29/07 and 1/19/08).

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Denison Cabral, Baltimore Blast, F

Blast midfielder Denison Cabral recorded a total of 12 points over the weekend to lead his team to back-to-back wins. In the team's 18-8 win over the Storm Friday night, Cabral had one three-point goal and one two-point goal for five points. His first goal (the three-pointer) came at the 4:00 minute mark of the second quarter and gave Baltimore a 9-5 lead. His second goal, the next goal of the game (two-pointer) put the Blast on top, 11-5. The following night, Cabral knocked in three goals and added an assist for seven points. For the second night in a row, Cabral scored back-to-back goals, plus he added a third for three consecutive goals - in a span of just under seven minutes. His first goal, at :46 of the second quarter, was Baltimore's sixth straight goal and put the Blast up, 12-2. His next goal was at 7:14 and the third came at 7:45. All three were power-play goals and were three of Baltimore's five PPGs that night.
