Chicago Storm News Release

Milwaukee, WI – The Chicago Storm dropped to 5-5 on the season after losing 4-3 tonight to the Milwaukee Wave at U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, Wisc. Milwaukee's Greg Howes scored the game-winner with 46 seconds remaining in the game. This was the fourth installment of the I-94 rivalry series, which is now even at two each. The "Yellow and Black" will return home to the UIC Pavilion next Saturday, December 11, when they will take on two-time defending champion Baltimore Blast at 7:00 p.m. CT.

"Today, I am proud of my team," said Storm Head Coach and GM Frank Klopas. "It was good soccer from the team and a great game overall. We need to do better on our two on three's and our two on one's. We need to keep our heads up. This is turning into a great rivalry and the games are getting better and better. Unfortunately one team has to lose."

In fourth quarter, the Wave scored four goals from four different players to give Milwaukee the win. Storm goalkeeper Danny Waltman kept the Wave scoreless until the 3:21 mark of the fourth quarter when midfielder Angel Rivillo connected with defender Lovelace Ackah, who fired a shot past Waltman, making the score 2-1 and spoiling any chances of a Storm shutout.

Less then a minute later, the Storm answered back when defender Costea Decu passed downfield to forward Awadalla Morad. The West Bank, Palestine native brought the ball up the left side and slipped a shot under Wave goalkeeper Dan Green for his fourth goal of the season. Milwaukee then proceeded to score three straight goals, with the game-winner coming from Howes. Defender Chris Morman passed the ball down into the left corner to Howes, who gathered the pass, turned and rifled a shot past Waltman. The "Yellow and Black" brought out midfielder Novi Marojevic as a sixth attacker but could not pull out any last second heroics. Waltman finished the night with 17 saves on 21 shots faced.

Both teams were held scoreless in the first quarter of play with Waltman making seven saves and Green recording six. The Storm got on the board first in the second quarter at 7:46 when defender Lazo Alavanja intercepted a long pass and blasted a shot past Green from just inside the yellow line for his third goal of the season. Storm midfielder Sandre Naumoski recorded his fourth goal in three games after he connected with midfielder Novi Marojevic for a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The Storm returns to action on Saturday, December 11 against the Blast. The game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet and will be aired via radio on Univision Radio WRTO 1200 AM and www.chicagostorm.net.
