Chicago Storm and Univision Radio WRTO 1200 AM Partner for 2004-05 Inaugural Season

Chicago (Monday, November 22, 2004) – The Chicago Storm of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that they have partnered with Univision Radio WRTO 1200 AM to broadcast 21 Storm games during the 2004-05 inaugural season. The first game broadcast in Spanish on the nation’s leading Spanish-language network will be on Friday, November 26 against the Milwaukee Wave at 7:30 p.m. CT from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.

“We are very excited to broadcast Chicago Storm soccer to Chicago’s Hispanic community,” said Storm President and Chief Operating Officer Bob Welch. “Univision Radio is a premier network in Chicago and we are proud to have the Chicago Storm’s inaugural season on the air with them.”

Univision Radio’s addition to the Chicago Storm organization will compliment the team’s internet radio broadcasts, which can be heard on www.chicagostorm.net, via www.broadcastmonsters.com. Along with radio broadcasts, seven Storm games can be seen on Comcast SportsNet. The next telecast will be a tape delay of the “Yellow and Black’s” visit to Philadelphia last weekend. The game will be televised on Thursday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. CT.

“I am very proud of being part of the Chicago Storm family and the indoor soccer team,” said Gallo Goyo, Sports Director of “La Que Buena” 105.1 F.M., Univision Radio Group. “It is a real pleasure for me to broadcast play after play and all of the action that Storm indoor soccer brings to all of their fans at the UIC Pavilion. We are looking forward to the rest of the season and hope that the fans can come out and support the team at the UIC Pavilion, or listen to us through “La Tremenda” 1200 A.M. if you are unable to make it out to a game.”

Individual tickets range in price from $8 to $25 and can be purchased by calling the StormÂ’s front office (312) 226-GOAL (4625), Ticketmaster (312) 559-1212 or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Fans can also purchase individual tickets at the UIC box office located on 525 South Racine, Chicago, IL 60607. The box office is open from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Formed on June 3, 2004, the Chicago Storm becomes the ninth team in the MISL, joining the two-time defending champion Baltimore Blast, Cleveland Force, Kansas City Comets, Milwaukee Wave, Monterrey Tigres (Mexico), Philadelphia Kixx, St. Louis Steamers and San Diego Sockers. Storm home games will be played at The Pavilion in Chicago. The Storm front office is located at 411 South Sangamon, Suite B in Chicago.
