Chicago Sky Signs Chennedy Carter to Training Camp Contract

CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky announced today the team has signed guard Chennedy Carter (KEN-eh-dee Carter) to a training camp contract.

Carter was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by Atlanta. She was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team after averaging 17.4 points and 3.4 assists in 16 games (all starts) for the Dream. She averaged 14.2 points the following year in Atlanta before being acquired by Los Angeles in 2022. In 51 career games, including 29 starts, Carter averaged 12.7 points and 2.7 assists.

She played three seasons at Texas A&M from 2017-20, averaging 22.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists across 88 appearances (83 starts). She was named the 2017-18 SEC Rookie of the Year and was a unanimous selection for National Freshman of the Year. Carter was named to the All-SEC First Team in all three seasons of her college career, the first player in program history to do so. Her 22.5 points per game are the most in a season in school history and her 1,983 career points are second in school history.

The 5-9 Arlington, Texas native currently plays overseas with Heilongjiang in China. In 14 games, she is averaging 28.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
