
Chicago Remain On Top USHL Power Rankings

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The USAHockeyMagazine.com USHL November Power Rankings were released Thursday and for a second consecutive month the Chicago Steel (10-1-0-0, 20 pts.) sit atop the polls. In total, 21 media members ranked the teams from first to 17th and the votes were compiled into an overall monthly ranking.
The Steel began the 2016-2017 season with 10 consecutive wins, tying the USHL Tier 1 all-time record (Lincoln, 2012-2013). Chicago received 20 first-place votes, while the Waterloo Black Hawks (8-2-0-1, 17 pts.) received one.
As a league, the USHL is off to one of its best starts. 68 players were named to the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary List, including four A-rated prospects labeled as potential first round picks. This comes one year after the league had 30 or more NHL Draft selections in four consecutive seasons after the NHL Draft in Buffalo, NY. The league's NCAA success continues to grow as well, with more than 285 NCAA Division I commits on opening day rosters. Last season the USHL had more than 400 NCAA commits play in the league.
