Chicago Red Stars Unveil 2020 Preseason Roster

CHICAGO - The Chicago Red Stars have announced their roster for the 2020 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) preseason.

Joining the Red Stars for preseason will be five players from the 2020 NWSL Draft; defenders Julia Bingham (University of Southern California), Camryn Biegalski (University of Wisconsin) and Aerial Chavarin (Yale University) along with midfielders Zoe Morse (University of Virginia) and Ella Stevens (Duke University).

Head Coach Rory Dames called in three players from February's tryouts; midfielder Jaci Jones, midfielder Arianna Veland, and forward Brenna Lovera.

Additionally, goalkeeper Ella Dederick, defenders Julie Lester, Mary Meehan, and Lauren Sajewich, midfielder Cassie Rohan, and forwards Maddie Pokorny, Zoe Redei and Taylor Timko have been included as non-roster invitees to preseason camp.

U.S. Women's National Team players Julie Ertz, Tierna Davidson, Alyssa Naeher, and Casey Short will join the Red Stars for preseason after international duty. Goalkeeper Cassie Miller will report to preseason following her season overseas.

Chicago will play their first preseason match on March 15 in a closed scrimmage against DePaul University. The team will then travel to Breese Stevens Field for a preseason match against the University of Wisconsin on March 25.

Dames will look to narrow down the roster before the team kicks off the regular season on the road against the North Carolina Courage on April 18. The next weekend the Red Stars will host Portland for their 2020 home opener on April 25 at SeatGeek Stadium.
