GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Feb. 25, 2010) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club tied Mexican side Chivas de Guadalajara 1-1 at Chivas' practice facility, Verde Valle, in Guadalajara, Mexico. Forward Brian McBride's goal gave the Fire a 1-0 lead in the first half. However, a late equalizer from Chivas de Guadalajara in the waning seconds of the match spoiled the Fire's third consecutive win of preseason play.

From the first kick, the Fire displayed pace throughout the midfield, possessing the ball well and pushing forward for a number of chances in the first half. In the 41st minute the Fire broke through when Fire defender Wilman Conde sent a looping pass from deep in the Fire's own end, finding an open McBride at the edge of the Chivas defense. McBride then capitalized on the Chivas goalkeeper's positioning, chipping the ball over the goalkeeper for his first goal of the 2010 preseason.

The Fire held the 1-0 lead late into the match, until Chivas forward Adrián Domínguez struck a low driven shot to beat substitute goalkeeper Sean Johnson from 25-yards out.

With the draw against the famed Mexican side, the Fire are 2-0-1 during their 2010 preseason campaign. The Fire will continue to train at Club Deportivo at the Universidad de Guadalajara until March 4. The Fire will return to the pitch for their fourth exhibition of the 2010 preseason on Wednesday, March 3 against an opponent to be named at a later date.
