CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC announced today that midfielder Gastón Giménez has been called up to the Paraguay National Team and defender Miguel Navarro has been called up to the Venezuela National Team for a pair of CONMEBOL 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
The South American qualifying tournament begins with matches on Thursday, Oct. 8 when Paraguay hosts Peru at 5:30 p.m. CT at Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asuncion, Paraguay. One day later, on Friday, Oct. 9, Venezuela will face Colombia at 6:30 p.m. CT at Metropolitano Roberto Melendez Stadium in Barranquilla, Colombia.
The Chicago Fire FC teammates will face each other on Tuesday, Oct. 13, when Paraguay travels to face Venezuela at 5:00 p.m. CT at Metropolitano de Merida Stadium in Merida, Venezuela.
