CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC today announced that defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda has been called up to the U.S. Men's National Team by head coach Gregg Berhalter. The USMNT will face Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday, January 31 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Fla. at 6:00 p.m. CT, live on FS1, UniMás and TUDN.

Earlier this year, Pineda joined U.S. U-23 MNT head coach Jason Kreis's squad for a January training camp that was held in conjunction with the senior USMNT. Following camp, Berhalter elevated several U-23 players, including Pineda, to the full USMNT roster ahead of the match against Trinidad & Tobago.

It is the second senior team call-up for Pineda, who was on the gameday roster for the 6-0 win against El Salvador on Dec. 9. He has also represented the U.S. at the U-18 and U-20 levels.

Pineda recently signed a multi-year contract extension on Dec. 31 and was named Chicago's Defensive Player of the Year after a stellar rookie season.
