Chicago Blaze Sign WNBA's Mfon Udoka

Naperville, IL - The Blaze today signed Mfon Udoka of the WNBA Houston Comets and the African National Team. Udoka averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds per game last season for the Blaze, leading them in both scoring and rebounding. On Friday, Mfon and her brother Ime, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, became the first WNBA-NBA siblings. Udoka is expected to suit up for the Blaze home opener this Sunday, 3 p.m. at North Central College in Naperville.

The Chicago Blaze is entering its third season in the NWBL. The Blaze will play a 22 game schedule from January 11-March 23 and will play its home games at Merner Fieldhouse located at North Central College in Naperville, IL.

The National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) showcases professional women basketball players from across the nation, including players from the WNBA who choose to stay in the U.S. to play during the off-season. The season is played from January through April and the teams include the Birmingham Power, CHICAGO BLAZE, Colorado Chill, Dallas Fury, Houston Stealth, and Springfield Spirit.
