Spirit To Tip Off Season

January 16, 2004 - National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) - Springfield Spirit News Release

West Springfield, January 16, 2004 – Springfield Spirit President and Owner Stephen Fox is pleased to announce that the start of the 2004 regular season will begin this Sunday, January 18 (6pm) at Central Connecticut State University.

Stephen Fox stated, “We are really looking forward to Sunday as it will be the first time that our team gets the chance to play together. So far this season we have only had practice and one intersquad scrimmage to work out, so this will give us a chance to see how everyone plays together.”

Fox also stated; “We are also very excited to be getting Swin (Cash) back in time for the game. We are hoping that Swin will continue where she left off after the terrific 2003 season that she had with the Spirit. We all know what type of player Swin is and we couldn’t be anymore excited to have her back.”
