Spirit lose in Springfield

The Springfield Spirit suffered a heart breaking loss tonight, as they were beat by the visiting Colorado Chill by a score of 83-69. Rita Williams who had a game high 18 points led the Spirit offensively. Also chipping in offensively for the Spirit were Cindy Blodgett with 14 points, Isabel Stubbs 12 points, and Andrea Garner 12 points and a game high 10 rebounds.

The Colorado Chill placed 5 players in double digits and leading the way was Helen Darling, who shot 6-8 from the field and hitting 2-4 three pointers for a total of 16 points. Helping out Darling on the offensive front were Jill Chapman-Daily with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Maren Walseth with 14 points and a team high 9 rebounds. Edna Campbell and Jenny Roulier rounded out the double digit scoring for the Chill with 14 points a piece.

The Springfield Spirit's next game is Tuesday night as they are set to travel to Birmingham, AL to take on the Power. Rasheeda Clark has also left the Spirit for personal reasons and will not be returning to action again this year.
